Please note: this is an experimental batch, and we're still dialing in the resin composition for cross cuts. Since we do not rely on hardness of the resin for stability of the wood, unlike other manufacturers, you may notice heat-induced movement of the wood. Use ZIRCONIA sanding belts to minimize heating. 
 
Karealian Birch aka Masur Birch aka Curly Birch is just a variant of the Silver Birch, but with a twist. A genetic mutation causes the trunk of the tree to twist as it grows, resulting in an aberrant growth ring structure, leading to a wavy, irregular, curly, starlike, and lenslike grain appearance of the wood with a high shimmer. Valued for its beauty, Karelian Birch is a popular material for furniture building, knife handles, pen making, and other decorative applications.
 
W-10 is our brand new, proprietary way of stabilzing wood that is superior to anything else available on the knife market. The main advantage of W-10 stabilization over the traditional resin impregnation methods used in knife handle manufacturing is enhanced resistance to movement due to changes in ambient humidity. Additional benefits include superior machinability, higher luster finish, considerably lower wear on sanding belts, and improved toughness.
