Ebonite Scales

Here's a blast from the past!

Hard vulcanized rubber used to be a popular material for pistol and knife grips in the late 1800s. Its popularity in that capacity waned towards the 1910s and it was gradually replaced by other materials. However, it still remains the material of choice for high-end fountain pens, pipe stems, and musical instrument elements. These days there are only a handful of quality ebonite manufacturers left, and the number of those making it in colors other than black is even lower. We are proud to offer you a lineup of ebonite scales made by a German manufacturer who, in our opinion based on thousands of hours of work with this material, makes the best stuff on the market. Lightweight and warm, nothing else delivers quite the same tactile sensation.
