Genuine Baltic Amber

Amber, which has been valued for its beauty and used for jewelry and ornamentation since ancient times, is fossilized tree resin that has been secreted by long-extinct coniferous trees millions of years ago. In the ancient amber forests, the resin flowed down the trunks and branches and formed into blobs, sheets, and stalactites, dripping onto the forest floor. The sticky substance collected detritus, soil, and sometimes entrapped flying and crawling creatures. Eventually, after the trees fell, the resin-coated logs were carried by rivers and tides to deltas in the coastal regions, where they were buried over time in sedimentary deposits.

The Baltic region has the largest known amber deposits in the world. These amber deposits formed sometime during the Eocene epoch (56-34 million years ago), and researchers estimate its age to be between 35 and 47 million years. Amber naturally occurs in a wide range of colors - from the usual yellow-orange-brown, to white, pale yellow, and black. Uncommon colors include red, green, and even the highly sought-after blue. Most amber is found in the form of small stones, with large pieces being rare and very expensive.

We are pleased to offer you our lineup of genuine Baltic Amber scales and turning blanks. These products are composed of amber stones of various colors and sizes that have been cast in a stabilizing resin matrix to ensure the best stability of the material and the best appearance of the final product.
